Smat 1: Evil Manhole Cover Wrecking Timber Company 0

Now I'm £98.11 up (providing the cheque clears). Amazing what the threat of legal action does to a company, isn't it?
Decking now nearly finished (I know, it's been going on a long time, but nearly there now), and i just need to decide what I want to do round the edges so that the Baby Smats don't fall off and break their necks while scooting down the drive, around the corner, up the slope onto the deck and off in to the garden. Or me after a glass of wine or two come to that (not the scooting obviously, more the tripping over the edge). I quite fancy growing some veg round the edges, but Mr Smat wants some fencing. Perhaps if I ask him this evening around 8.05pm he might agree with me.
This home educating lark is a bit of a doddle* - yesterday Middle Baby Smat was struggling with turning decimals into units, then suddenly realised that it was just the same as making 650 pence turn into £6.50. Who needs school, eh? Or years of teacher training?

* last week's confidence crisis was simply a temporary aberration, I wasn't panicking that I was ruining her entire life for ever and ever because I was so useless at the whole thing. Definately not. And now that I've had some sleep I'm fine again. The afternoon out with Patroclus helped too. Cheers P.

That was a top afternoon out, indeed. And we didn't even need to consume any long island iced teas! Glad to hear that all goes well in the world of home educating - of course you're good at it. You've got them doing German allegorical plays and everything!

Thanks to you for your sage advice, as well. Also, I have not smoked for five days, hurrah!

and none of that taking-it-easy-with-the-English-translation either. Original language or nothing here. Not to mention the Latin textbook as a special treat.

Wow five days eh P? Not bad at all.

I think the threat of legal action is always a good thing. As long as it's not directed towards me.
