Today was Christmas Play Day for Dear Daughter 2. She was an angel - my first ever angel! The ten miles of tinsel I had patiently sewn on hadn't fallen off, the annoying song which has been practised endlessly was sung, and my little angel's halo slipped off her head. Like mother, like daughter, hey? But on the plus side none of the 4-7 years olds wet themselves on stage, so there's always a positive side to things. And the dads who went and hid in the back row so they could giggle and whisper and pass sweeties to each other were not my my responsibility. The one I was responsible for sat nicely in the front row and behaved himself. He didn't even try to play SimCity on his Palm. We all clapped and said "Awwww" in the right places - it must be nearly Christmas.

well, here I am, dipping a toe very gingerly into 'blogging'. Thanks to my very good friend at quinquireme.com for encouraging me - mostly because I have just bought a cool domain name. Welcome to the strange world of smat.biz.
