Too many comments, not enough posts

Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? Patroclus had me as "resting" for a while, and now I don't exist on her blogroll any more . But Stef the Engineer has added me to his as I'm a "prolific commentator" apparently so cheers Stef! And if I work out this technology business, I might add you to my own (currently non-existent) blogroll.
Anyway, Things Which Have Been Annoying Me recently:
1. the Government re home educators (serious post about this coming up soon).
2. hippy beardy weirdy types who reckon they can mess about with the Littlest Baby Smat's schooling.
3. the Government (again) for making Biggest Baby Smat do SATS - she's had to stop doing GCSE Maths and go back a year to "revise" the previous year's work so that the Govt. can claim that kids today aren't thick or nuffink.
4. my district council who won't give me another blue bag for my paper recycling, even though the one I did have blew away on Wednesday.

Things Which Have Made me Happy
1. I have a new kitchen
2. the decking is (mostly) finished.
3. the huge half-way-across-the-road puddle on the way back from school which sprays water over the entire car is being regularly topped-up by the horrendous weather we've been having.
4. I'm going to save money by reorganising my TV/Internet/Phone/Mobile stuff now that Virgin have taken over NTL. So now I can buy more stuff - result!
